The challenge survived. It just needs a room.
When NaNoWriMo closed, several companies rebuilt the month. Nobody rebuilt the room. The November Room runs a write-in every day inside WriteinaClick: you write in your own manuscript for 25 minutes alongside other authors, and the room shares your progress, never your words.
25 minutes · Shared timer · Private manuscript
Show up. Open your manuscript. Write together.
Join at the scheduled time
Two write-ins run in The November Room every day. The page always shows the next one in your local time.
Write inside your book
Open your manuscript and keep writing where your story already lives. There is no separate document to manage.
Share the moment, not the manuscript
Other writers can see that you are taking part and how far you have progressed. They never see the words you write.
Finish together
When the timer reaches zero, see what you got done and how many words the room wrote together.
Your manuscript
Only you see this page
The lighthouse keeper had not spoken to anyone in eleven days, and she had started to like it. Tonight the lamp stuttered twice before it caught...
What the room sees
Progress, never your words
Shared timer
Illustration of a write-in
Two chances to show up every day.
Midday write-in (New York), 25 minutes
Evening write-in (New York), 25 minutes
The room opens 10 minutes before the scheduled start. Arrive a little early so everyone can begin together.
Built for writing, not performing.
Your manuscript stays private
The room receives your progress count, not your prose.
Collaboration before competition
The number the room gathers around is what everyone wrote together, not who wrote the most.
Choose how you appear
Use your own display name or one suggested by WriteinaClick.
When the timer ends, your book is already home.
Your write-in is not trapped inside an event, a video call, or a temporary text box. You are writing directly inside WriteinaClick, the same place where you can plan, draft, organize, revise, share, and prepare your book for export.
One intelligent home for your whole book, from the first idea to a publish-ready file.

Questions writers ask before their first sprint
Can other writers read my manuscript?
No. You write inside your own private manuscript. Other people in the room see your progress, not your words.
How long is a Sprint Room?
Every sprint lasts 25 minutes.
When do the rooms open?
The doors open 10 minutes before the scheduled start, so there is time to arrive and settle before the timer runs.
Is it a competition?
No. The number the room gathers around is the progress everyone made together. Nobody is ranked against anybody else.
Can I use the chat?
Writers aged 18 or older can use the room chat. The timer, progress tracking, and the writing itself all work without it.
Can I edit during a sprint?
You can work in your manuscript however you like. Room progress is based on the words you add during the sprint.
